Objective 3 - On-farm Meat and Wool Production Details
Objective Leader: Dr Terry Reid
On-farm meat and wool production details will summarise the mass, the energy and the nutrient inputs and outputs for on-farm production of meat and wool. The analysis will be based on the eight farm classes summarised by the Meat and Wool Innovation Economic Service. The scientific and technical literature will be searched to obtain all data available on resource inputs and outputs to New Zealand sheep and beef farms. Where no data are available an existing model will be used to predict resource balances. The model will be modified, updated and refined to provide data comparable with those from the literature search. The information obtained will be developed and summarised into a form suitable to be included in the overall footprint model.
