1997 Future Water Demand Projections for Auckland - $140,000

This contract involved the projection of water requirements for Auckland, based on economic, urban form and population variables. Various scenarios were produced to highlight the supply requirements and potential infrastructure needs.

The construction of these planning scenarios was underpinned by an econometric analysis of the determinants of water demand profiles. As such, various price elasticities were calculated for each TLA in New Zealand. Garry McDonald and colleagues at McDermott Fairgray Group Ltd undertook this project for a private sector client.
